Trevor St. Denis

LPC-Associate, MA

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate. I began working in behavioral health after witnessing the profound impact that untreated substance use and mental health issues can have on individuals and their families. I believe that, with the right support and preventive measures, many of these challenges can be mitigated or even prevented. I'm motivated by the belief that anyone can make positive changes and create a fulfilling life.

I work best with adolescents and young adults facing challenges such as substance misuse, gambling, and depressive symptoms. I'm especially skilled at meeting clients where they are, particularly those who may be contemplating change and who are unsure if their use is problematic. I believe it's important to give clients the autonomy to make their own decisions, as this sense of empowerment fosters greater commitment, meaningful progress, and consistency.

My values and worldview are shaped by a deep belief in resilience and the power of human connection. I approach my work with the mindset that genuine change is possible when people feel seen and supported. Professionally, I incorporate evidence-based practices like DBT, understanding that meeting clients where they are and collaboratively building trust and rapport is essential. I strive to create an environment that fosters self-discovery, compassion, and personal accountability.

Outside of work, I enjoy live music, movies, and discovering new restaurants within Houston's rich and diverse food scene.
